Breadcrumbing

Breadcrumbing is when someone gives you just enough attention to keep you interested, without ever moving things forward — a text here, a like there, never quite a "yes." The tell is usually a pattern: enough contact to keep hope alive, never enough to build anything real. If you're doing a lot of emotional work interpreting someone's crumbs, that's usually your answer.
