What does it mean to be left on read or simmering?
Being "left on read" means someone saw your message and didn't reply. "Simmering" is the newer, gentler term for the same limbo — not quite ghosted, not quite responded to, just sitting there unresolved. Neither deserves the anxious re-reading it usually gets; a lack of a reply is information too.
